Carl Smith's London Marathon and Guiness Book of Records Challenge

Thanks for visiting my London Marathon 2013 World Record attempt page.

The big question, why am I going to put myself through 4 cold winter months of punishment by getting up at stupid o clock to run up them never ending Queensbury Hills, here's why:

For those of you don't know, Ryan and Lyndsey Senior gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Isabella Grace, in November 2011 and despite being born 6 weeks early, she was of an healthy weight and progressing well, unfortunately she became poorly with Bronchiolitis in late december and despite a massive fight sadly passed away in February 2012. Please see the deidcated page that Isabella's parents have set up in her memory regarding their fundraising aims www.isabellagrace.org.uk . As you can see the charity work that Ryan and Lyndsey have done and the amout raised in such a short time is unbelievable, they are both a credit to Isabella and I am delighted to try and raise some money for this fantastic cause.

I have done 2 London Marathon's in the past and this year to try and raise more funds for this fantastic cause, I have decided to do the Marathon in fancy dress and try and break a Guinness World Record at the same time. My attempt is to try and become the fastest man to complete a marathon dressed as a Lifeguard, so basically in Baywatch style, I will be carrying a buoy and a whistle round my neck, whilst dressed in a yellow vest and red shorts. I have had my application approved by Guinness World Records, so all I've got to do now is get lots of training in, raise lots of money for the Isabella Grace trust and then beat 3 hours 20 mins for the Marathon, if only it was that easy.

So in short that is the reason I want to run the London Marathon this year, please check out the Isabella website, it certainly pulls on the heart strings and its a real tear jercker but its a fantastic way of keeping Isabella's memory going strong. So please dig deep and sponsor me in memory of Isabella , the brightest star in the sky.

As the Isabella Grace Trust is not a registered charity, I am unable to set up a justgiving charity page, however I have set up a seperate bank account where you can sponsor me by internet banking, Account Number: 71803807 Sort Code: 50-42-37, alternatively you can donate through the website www.isabellagrace.org.uk , where there is a donate button to click. Please could you put your name and Carl Marathon as the reference so I can thank you for the sponsor and if you could also send me an E-mail so I'm aware of the sponsorship. If you don't want to donate in this way I do also have sponsor forms so if you see me in person you can fill in the sponsor form and pay cash.

Thanks again for all your support.
